Dymo Labels and Printers In Use
Printing Dymo labels is a snap using their software. You can easily use the software to print from a number of different standard databases such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, text files, and Universal Data Links (UDL). Programs like Card Scan will also work for scanning a persons business card. This video can demonstrate how to set up a label and how to print to the Dymo printer.
If you are running software that has an address book, you can open the DYMO software, click on the address book and select open. Then open the address or data list file you want to export. You can then choose where you want the file to be exported. Then click save.
Of course you can also just manually enter the data into the label fields. See the images here that show a printed label for parts. By marking the parts as they come in for motor vehicles, it is easy to quickly identify what part goes to which vehicle when it is time to do the repair.
This label is the 2-1/8 x 4” size DYMO label 30323 which is perfect for marking larger parts. Just print and stick them to the parts as they come in from the parts dealer. This way there is no chance of losing the part in the mix of all the other items coming in for other vehicles.
These labels are easier to make than using tape or other markings. These labels also allow you to apply a barcode so you can use an easy “check in – check out” software program to keep track of inventory and to make sure all the parts are used on the proper repair. DYMO Label Software supports printing Code 3 of 9, Code 3 of 9 MOD, Code 128-A, 128-B, 128-C, 128-Auto, Interleaved 2 of 5, UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN-8, EAN-13, EAN-128, Codabar, ITF-14, POSTNET, and QR. Supported graphic formats include ;BMP, WMF, EMF, PCX, TIFF, JPG, and PNG.
Usually there is a waiting period on the repairs so by marking and inventorying the parts as they come in there is a much lower risk of losing any parts in the interim. Other applications include using these labels to mark or label the keytags for the customers. This provides a nice professional look which helps with the brand image of your repair shop.
Another size that is popular is the 1-1/8 x 3-1/2” size = Dymo 30252 label. These labels are sold in case quantity and work perfectly for these applications. For more questions about parts labeling, barcode tracking, or Dymo printing, please contact us. We look forward to helping.
